P-Thyroglobulin antibody [Anti-TG]

Measures antibodies against thyroglobulin, a protein in the thyroid gland. Elevated levels are often seen in autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's and Graves' disease) and can affect measurements of thyroglobulin in the blood.

P-Thyroid peroxidase antibody [Anti-TPO]

Measures antibodies against the enzyme thyroid peroxidase in the thyroid gland. Elevated levels are often seen in autoimmune thyroid diseases such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis and can help clarify the cause of thyroid problems.

P-Thyrotropin (TSH) receptor antibody [TRAb]

Measures antibodies against the TSH receptor in the thyroid gland. Elevated levels are typically seen in Graves' disease, which causes hyperthyroidism.

P-Triiodothyronine free [Free T3]

NOTE: cannot be analysed in Zealand. Only Funen and Jutland. Measures the free, biologically active part of T3 in the blood. Provides a more accurate picture of the metabolic activity than total T3.

P-Triiodothyronine reaction

Measures the proportion of added T3 that is not bound to transport proteins in the blood (primarily TBG – thyroxine-binding globulin). The analysis is used to assess the ratio of bound to free hormone and can supplement TSH, T3, and T4 in the diagnosis of thyroid disease.

Vitamin D

Measures the level of vitamin D in the blood (25-hydroxyvitamin D), which is the best indicator of the body's vitamin D status. Vitamin D is important for bones, muscles, the immune system, and general health.

About the health check

Analyzes the hormones TSH, T3, and T4 to assess thyroid function. The test can identify both overactive and underactive thyroid, which affects energy, weight, temperature regulation, and mood.
No doctor's visit necessary – order online, go to your local hospital, and receive results digitally shortly thereafter.

Is a cheque right for me?

This test is relevant if you experience symptoms such as unexplained weight changes, fatigue, cold/heat intolerance, or changes in skin and hair. It provides insight into thyroid function.

What is being tested

P-Thyrotropin(TSH);(IRP 81/565)
P-Thyroxine [T4]
P-Thyroxine free [T4]
P-Triiodothyronine [T3]

Add-ons

P-Thyroid Peroxidase Antibody:
Measures antibodies directed against the enzyme thyroid peroxidase in the thyroid gland. Elevated values are often seen in autoimmune thyroid diseases such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis and can help clarify the cause of thyroid problems.

P-Thyrotropin (TSH) Receptor Antibody:
Measures antibodies directed against the TSH receptor in the thyroid gland. Elevated values are typically seen in Graves' disease, which causes hyperthyroidism.

P-Thyroglobulin Antibody:
Measures antibodies against thyroglobulin, a protein in the thyroid gland. Elevated values are often seen in autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's and Graves' disease) and can affect measurements of thyroglobulin in the blood.

P-Triiodothyronine Uptake:
Measures the proportion of added T3 that is not bound to transport proteins in the blood (primarily TBG – thyroxine-binding globulin). This analysis is used to assess the ratio of bound to free hormone and can supplement TSH, T3, and T4 in the evaluation of thyroid disease.

P-Free Triiodothyronine [Free T3]:
NOTE: *Not available in Zealand*
Measures the free, biologically active portion of T3 in the blood. Provides a more precise picture of thyroid activity than total T3.

D-Vitamin:
Measures the level of vitamin D in the blood (25-hydroxyvitamin D), which is the best indicator of the body's vitamin D status. Vitamin D is important for bones, muscles, the immune system, and overall health.

Test preparation

No fasting required.

The test is recommended to be taken in the morning, as TSH levels can vary throughout the day.

The Czech Republic's shortcomings

TSH, T3, and T4 can vary throughout the day and are affected by illness, medication, or pregnancy. A single measurement can therefore not always stand alone when a thyroid disorder is suspected.

Where can I take the test?

Blood tests can be taken at public hospitals with which we have agreements.
Currently, these are Herlev & Gentofte Hospital and the entire Region of Southern Denmark, Central Denmark Region, and North Denmark Region.
If you want to have free T3 measured, this can only be done in the Region of Southern Denmark, Central Denmark Region, and North Denmark Region.
Thus, not at Herlev & Gentofte Hospital.
