About the Health Check-up

Measures antibodies against tissue transglutaminase (tTG-IgA). The test is primarily used to detect or rule out celiac disease, an autoimmune reaction to gluten that affects the small intestine.

Is the check correct for me?

Relevant if you have gastrointestinal symptoms such as bloating, diarrhea, abdominal pain, weight loss, iron deficiency, or unexplained fatigue. Also relevant if there is a family history of celiac disease.

What is being tested

Add-ons
Preparation for the test
The Czech Republic's shortcomings

The test may be falsely negative in cases of IgA deficiency or if you are already on a gluten-free diet. If coeliac disease is suspected, total IgA and potentially further antibody tests should be included, and the diagnosis is often confirmed with an intestinal biopsy.

Where can I get tested?

Blood samples can be taken at public hospitals with which we have agreements.
Currently, these are Herlev & Gentofte Hospital and all of Region Southern Denmark, Region Central Denmark, and Region Northern Denmark.
If you want to have free T3 measured, this can only be done in Region Southern Denmark, Region Central Denmark, and Region Northern Denmark.
Therefore, not at Herlev & Gentofte Hospital.
