Measures antibodies against the enzyme thyroid peroxidase in the thyroid gland. Elevated levels are often seen in autoimmune thyroid diseases such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis and can help clarify the cause of thyroid problems.

This test is relevant if you have symptoms of thyroid disease and want to investigate whether the cause could be autoimmune. It is particularly suitable for fatigue, cold intolerance, weight changes, dry skin, or a family history of autoimmune disease.

P-Thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb).

An elevated TPO antibody does not necessarily indicate active disease, and many with elevated levels never develop symptoms. The results should be interpreted together with other thyroid markers.

Blood samples can be taken at the public hospitals we have agreements with.
At present, these are Herlev & Gentofte Hospital and the entire Region of Southern Denmark, Central Denmark Region, and North Denmark Region.
If you want to have free T3 measured, this can only be done in the Region of Southern Denmark, Central Denmark Region, and North Denmark Region.
In other words, not at Herlev & Gentofte Hospital.
