About the Health Check-up

Measures antibodies against thyroglobulin, a protein in the thyroid gland. Elevated levels are often seen in autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's and Graves' disease) and can affect measurements of thyroglobulin in the blood.

Is the check correct for me?

The test is relevant if you have symptoms of thyroid problems and an autoimmune cause is suspected. It is often used together with TPO antibodies to assess the risk of Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

What is being tested

S-Thyroglobulin antibody (TgAb).

Add-ons
Preparation for the test
The Czech Republic's shortcomings

An elevated TgAb can be seen without clinical disease, and the test alone cannot make a diagnosis. The result must be interpreted together with other metabolic markers.

Where can I get tested?

Blood samples can be taken at public hospitals with which we have agreements.
Currently, these are Herlev & Gentofte Hospital and all of Region Southern Denmark, Region Central Denmark, and Region Northern Denmark.
If you want to have free T3 measured, this can only be done in Region Southern Denmark, Region Central Denmark, and Region Northern Denmark.
Therefore, not at Herlev & Gentofte Hospital.
