About the Health Check-up

Measures antibodies against the TSH receptor in the thyroid gland. Elevated levels are typically seen in Graves' disease, which causes hyperthyroidism.

Is the check correct for me?

This test is an obvious choice if you have symptoms of hyperthyroidism (palpitations, weight loss, sweating, restlessness) and Graves’ disease is suspected. It is also relevant for previously diagnosed hyperthyroidism to monitor the condition.

What is being tested

P-TSH receptor antibody (TRAb).

Add-ons
Preparation for the test
The Czech Republic's shortcomings

A negative result does not rule out hyperthyroidism, as some patients do not have measurable TRAb. The test should be interpreted together with TSH, T3 and T4.

Where can I get tested?

Blood samples can be taken at public hospitals with which we have agreements.
Currently, these are Herlev & Gentofte Hospital and all of Region Southern Denmark, Region Central Denmark, and Region Northern Denmark.
If you want to have free T3 measured, this can only be done in Region Southern Denmark, Region Central Denmark, and Region Northern Denmark.
Therefore, not at Herlev & Gentofte Hospital.
