Measures the blood’s clotting time. Used to screen for serious disorders of blood clotting ability, including before surgery or in cases of unexplained bleeding.

Relevant if you experience unexplained bleeding, frequent bruising, or bleeding from the gums and mucous membranes; if you are going to undergo surgery and want your bleeding risk assessed in advance; or if a factor deficiency such as hemophilia is suspected. The test is a clinical screening for serious disorders of the coagulation system, not a routine health marker.

P-coagulation, surface-induced [APTT]

APTT is a screening test that only detects significant abnormalities; factor levels must be around 20 to 30 percent of normal before the clotting time is prolonged. A normal result therefore does not rule out a mild bleeding tendency or factor deficiency. The sample has a short shelf life and must be analyzed soon after collection, which is why it can only be taken at a hospital. The test is suitable for assessing conventional heparin treatment, but does not reliably indicate the effect of modern blood-thinning medications of the NOAC or DOAC type.

Blood samples can be taken at the public hospitals we have agreements with.
At present, these are Herlev & Gentofte Hospital and the entire Region of Southern Denmark, Central Denmark Region, and North Denmark Region.
If you want to have free T3 measured, this can only be done in the Region of Southern Denmark, Central Denmark Region, and North Denmark Region.
In other words, not at Herlev & Gentofte Hospital.
